This was a good short m/m mystery and romance. And for the price of $1.99, definitely a bargain. Writing was solid, story was well-paced. The sexual tension will be sure to satisfy readers. x)
The mystery was shocking as it involved the death of a child, but was simple and straightforward, as I figured out the murderer easily enough. And I'm usually clueless at whodunits. ^-^ I could have done without the ghost factor, but I suppose it was necessary in order to introduce a character like Kiernan. I readily encourage anyone to buy this if you're looking for some light entertainment. And the price is just the cherry on top!
But what made this story was definitely Kiernan. He was such a fun and endearing character, a big bundle of energy in all his spontaniety, quirkiness, and laugh out loud t-shirt sayings.
This was an easy albeit ultimately forgettable read, which is why I can't bring myself to award it higher stars. I hate to go against the grain, but I did find myself skimming through the last 50 or so pages. The MC, the crime and the ghost factor, it just didn't stand out to me and I wasn't invested in either. >.< It is worth reading just for Kiernan though. I'd still be interested if the author decided to write a sequel, because Kiernan is too great of a character to miss out on.
